Pavel is a civil activist and a member of the Belarusian Association of Journalists’ Council. He was born on 30th December 1976 in Orsha. Pavel worked in independent media until he was elected deputy chair of the Belarusian Popular Front Party. Between 1999-2004 Pavel was chair of the Young Front youth movement, he is now co-chair of the steering committee of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Party.During the 2010 presidential election, Pavel worked as an activist for Vital Rymasheuski’s campaign team. He was arrested on 20th December in his home and taken to the KGB pre-trial prison. In late December he was charged under Par. 1 and 2 Art. 293. On 4th April the charges were changed to Article 342 of the Criminal Code. On 16th May Pavel was sentenced to 3 years of forced labour.
