Ukrainians are convinced they were attacked by Belarusian security services.
Anna Gutsol, the FEMEN movement leader, told Radio Svaboda activists Aleksandra NEmchinova, Inna Shevchenko and Oksana Shachko returned to Kyiv at 5 in the morning in a car of a Ukrainian consul. They do not have documents, money and personal belongings. Inna Shevchenka was in jeans, a dweller of the village of Beki (the Yelsk district) gave her.
“The girls were unable to file a complaint to police. They wanted to leave the country safe. Police did not want to accept complaints and the consul warned if the girls apply to police now, it will more likely be used against them, because a case over an illegal public action will be opened,” Gutsol said.
According to her, the hospital in Yelsk gave the girls medical certificate confirming normal state of health.
“We will apply to Ukrainian hospitals. We will appeal to the authorities of Ukraine. The Belarusian authorities should answer for crimes committed by Belarusian secret services against the Ukrainian citizens. We will continue even more active struggle against the regime of Lukashenka. We will help the people of Belarus in their liberation struggle,” Anna Gutsol said.
Gutsol is convinced the girls were attacked by the Belarusian security services, who watched them, planned the attack, blocked and beat them professionally and made video of it.
She supposes filming the girls, who were forced to raise fascist symbols, was made purposefully in the spirit of usual defamation attempts by KGB.
“They made their best to persuade the girls not to return to Belarus and hold any actions there. I think it’s not important for ordinary criminal whether our activists will arrive in Belarus or not. It has sense only for the authorities,” Hutsol said.
“I understand it is unreal to demand to open a criminal case in the country without laws. We will demand the Ukrainian MFA to release a diplomatic note. We will demand international community to impose international sanctions, but not economic ones to prevent suffering of the people of Belarus. We will demand to bring in troops, to release the people of Belarus from criminals, KGB officers, from criminal Lukashenka. Make appeal?! Whom do you expect us to appeal to? To your KGB? It’s senseless. We have our own methods to defend the injured girls. We will continue protests. We will apply best efforts to humiliate and deride in the eyes of Belarusian and international community such the barbaric institutions as KGB,” Gutsol said.
